32nd Singapore River Regatta, November 8/9, Boat Quay
The final race of the year is almost upon us. In one of the most exciting events on the Singapore dragon boat calendar, the Gaelic Dragons will be competing in the 32nd Singapore River Regatta. This is a 200m sprint race taking place in a wonderful and central location. It is always an interesting race with the steersperson having to contend with varying currents and shallow water, among other obstacles.
Ideally situated at Boat Quay, and with over 90 teams competing each day of the weekend, the River Regatta provides the perfect opportunity for the public to come and watch the amazing spectacle that is dragon boat racing. Cheer on The Gaelics while enjoying a meal and drink along the river. We will be competing in open, women and mixed categories so it will be a busy weekend for us but that’s what we train for!
Come on down, check it out and say “hello”. We will be based at our sponsor pub, The Penny Black, at the end of the Boat Quay strip.
Paddles up, kick arse, go Gaelics!
