Things to Note

  • PLEASE be on time as the boat departs promptly.
  • This is a “rain or shine” event which means we paddle when it rains (we get wet anyway).
  • On Saturday after paddling we gather by the beach for drinks and a chat. After that some of us go to a local Chinese cafe (fondly known as “Hotel Harbin”) for great food, lots of beer and more chat.

Training includes

  • Preparation of the boat and equipment;
  • Warm up;
  • Instruction for beginners by the coach and other experienced paddlers (so no need to be afraid if you’ve never paddled before);
  • Technique exercises;
  • Endurance drills, etc;
  • Preparation for dragon boat races (regattas).
