35th Singapore River Regatta And Our Gaelic Of The Month

We are so close to the end of the race season… Where did the time go? Have you already achieved the goals you’ve set when we started the race season?

In a few days, we will be racing on the last race of the season, the Singapore River Regatta. We’ve spent months of literally sweat, blood and tears, working so hard, in the boat, and in the gyms, just to prepare for this big day. You’ve dedicated your weekends to intense training, and chose to be with the team. Nearly a year of doing all these, it will finally pay off.

You are capable of achieving your goals. You are capable of achieving big things. You can think of getting the gold for this race. Why not?  Aiming high doesn’t hurt! Believe that you can, and you will get there. Make it happen! You’ve reached far enough, trained hard enough. Let go of the negative thoughts that is pulling you away from your goal. If we all think this way, nothing is impossible. This team has reached milestones and have proven that we can get things done with teamwork, same goal, same mindset.

So while you are on that boat, never let go on the last 50  or 100 meters. You are not alone fighting! And you will never be until the end of the finish line. We will finish the race strong! We will finish the race as ONE TEAM!

NO TRAINING THIS WEEKEND!

Be at the Penny Black to support the team! Wear your Gaelic jerseys or drinking shirt.

Note:  Wednesday morning session is ON! This is the last training session before SRR! If you think you can make it to this session, please be there. 6.30 am at cage! We’ll be off the water by 8 a.m. See you there! Don’t forget to bring your own water to training.

Gaelic of the Month

for October

Gaelic of the Month is something the captains decided to start this year but we realised we’ve never really explained much about it!

Gaelic of the Month is decided at the end of each month by the captain and vice captains. It’s a nice way for us to acknowledge someone who we think has put in that extra bit of effort at training, volunteered to help with out with something or done something that really shows the Gaelic spirit over the previous month.

We very specifically chose to do Gaelic of the Month (and not paddler of the month), because a lot of what we do happens off the water and we wanted to be able to include that.

If you think a fellow Gaelic deserves to be considered for the accolade in future months you can let the captains know and we’ll keep your suggestions on mind.

With all of that – this month the award goes to…..
